We love using Number Talk in Room 3. During number talk, Matua Atama may give us a maths provocation, a problem, or real world maths learning. We have to think of a strategy that we may use to solve that problem. Matua Atama always pushes us to think of more strategies if we can. We use hand gestures to indicate to the learning community if we have a strategy, more then one, and if we agree or disagree with others respectfully. It is such a rich learning task that helps to foster a community where we can challenge each other respectfully, while building confidence in learning Maths strategies and different approaches to Maths problems.
